Working with Variable Delete Process
Process Purpose
The Variable Delete process is used to delete a part of a string by way of defining the position within that string.
When you add a process, you are required to define its settings. This occurs in the process's properties window which is displayed automatically after having added the Variable Delete process.
If any subsequent edition is required, double-click the process to open its properties window and enter the necessary modifications.
Proceed as follows:

Portion to Delete |
|
From Pos. |
Define the position, within the string to be formatted, that marks the beginning of the string deleting operation. The initial position can also be defined from the end of the string, meaning, if you enter -5 ( a "negative position"), the deletion will start 5 positions from the end of the string. |
To Pos. |
Define the position, within the string to be formatted, that marks the end of the string deleting operation. If the "From Pos. " is defined as a "negative position", the "To Pos. " option must be "End". |
Length |
Define the number of characters from which a string will be deleted (the "To Position" option will be disabled if the "From Pos." position parameter is > 0). |
