Archiving a Configuration

Overview

 

Configurations can be archived. Operationally speaking, it is to "clear" old configurations and all their versions no longer in use.

This action can be performed in the "Configurations" page and in the "Configuration Details" page.

 

 

To Archive a Configuration in the "Configurations" Page

 

This option allows you to archive more than one configuration, at the same time.

 

Step-by-step

 

1. In the Admin Dashboard's "Control Panel", click Applications button , and, in the resulting row, select Configurations Sub Module Button .

This opens a "Configurations" page with the existing configurations in the account.

TIPCheck the Show all Versions box option to ensure the viewing of all configuration versions and not just the latest version of each configuration. This way you are sure of the configurations that need to be archived.

 

2. Select the configuration version(s) to be archived by checking the corresponding Check box.

3. Click Archive Header Button.

4. Click Confirm button to conclude the operation.

 

If you are unable to conclude, due to an error message, check Possible Error Message(s).

 

 

To Archive a Configuration in the "Configuration Details" Page

 

Step-by-step

 

1. In the Admin Dashboard's "Control Panel", click Applications button and, then, select Configurations Sub Module Button.

This opens a "Configurations" page with the existing configurations in the account.

TIPCheck the Show all Versions box option to ensure the viewing of all configuration versions and not just the latest version of each configuration. This way you are sure of the configurations that need to be deleted.

 

2. Click the name of the configuration you want to archive (displayed in light blue).

3. Click Archive Header Button.

4. Click Confirm button to conclude the operation.

If you are unable to conclude, due to an error message, check Possible Error Message(s) below.

 

 

Possible Error Message(s)

 

Site Configurations arch error

 

Occurrence: When clicking Confirm button.

Cause: The configuration to be archived is included in a deployment or assigned to a device group.

Action: No action. It is NOT possible to archived a configuration that is already archived.
