Forced Password Reset
Overview
The forced password reset of a platform user can only be triggered by an account administrator or the site manager assigned to the site that the platform user is associated to.
It is initiated in the intended platform user's details page and, then, it is completed by that user.
Step-by-step
Account Administrator/Site Manager Steps
1. Access the intended user's "User Details" page (Control Panel > "Set Up" module > "Users" sub-module > "User Management" page > "User Details" page) and open its "Security" tab.
2. Click the "Ask for a Password Change" link. This link is active if the page is in view or edit mode.
3. Click to proceed.
The user's status changes to "Pending Password Reset" and the password info is updated.
At this point, the platform user will receive an email explaining he must reset his password.
Platform User Steps
The platform user will become aware of this situation when he receives an email or when he attempts to log in after the reset password is triggered.
4. Use one of the following methods to access the Reset Password wizard:
•via the Login Page (if you attempt to log in after the password reset by the account administrator/site manager).
a. Open the login page, fill in the username and the current password (meaning, the password that has been deactivated by the account administrator or site manager) and click .
•via Email
a. Open the email you received from MCL Mobility Platform and click the link.
This link opens the login page.
b. Enter your username and current password (= the password that has been deactivated) and, then, click .

Once you click , you are redirected to the Reset Password wizard:
5. Define a new password based on the password requirements. Enter the new password and repeat it, in the corresponding input fields.
Password Requirements
The password MUST include, at least, 1 alphabetic character and 1 numeric character.
The password MUST have a minimum of 8 characters.
Spaces are NOT allowed.
The username CANNOT be used as a password.
The new password MUST be different from the current one (that has been deactivated).
6. After the fields are filled in with a new password that complies with the requirements, the button becomes active and you can click it to complete the reset.
If no Two-Factor Authentication has been enabled for you, you will proceed to the intended area of the MCL-Mobility Platform account.
If Two-Factor Authentication is enabled, you will proceed to the corresponding wizard to continue the login/authentication operation. See Two-Factor Authentication Login.
You will also receive an email to confirm the reset:
Your status within MCL-Mobility Platform will change back from "Pending Password Request" to "Enabled".
Also, the password related information in the "Security" tab will now, display the date/time of the new password setup.
