Overview
MCL Technologies provides a range of MCL products that require a license (see MCL Licensed Products below).
MCL-Client A runtime engine that interprets/executes MCL mobile applications written in MCL code scripting language (developed with MCL-Designer). It must be installed in the devices to run the MCL applications. It provides an interface between the device operator and the MCL environment/MCL applications called MCL App Desktop.
MCL-Net An RF communication program installed in a server that manages network communication (Ethernet, USB, WiFi and WWAN (GPRS/UMTS/4G)) between the host computer and concurrent users/devices.
MCL-Designer A Windows-based Rapid Application Development (RAD) tool for hand-held, mobile and fixed devices. The result is a mobile application developed in MCL code. It is installed in a PC.

There are 2 types of licensing for MCL products:
•(perpetual) License - this type of license only needs to be registered/activated once in MCL-License Manager. After the license package is registered, you will be able to manage the corresponding license units, meaning, you can attribute a license unit to a specific device (ex: MCL-Client license unit), to a PC (ex: MCL-Designer license unit) or to a server (ex: MCL-Net license unit) and activate it.
There are two types of MCL (perpetual) license products available - a "standard" MCL license (MCL-Client Std) and a "professional" MCL license (MCL-Client Pro), each one with its own services.
•Subscription - the use/availability of MCL-Client/MCL-Net/MCL-Designer is associated to an MCL-Mobility Platform subscription and the management of the corresponding license units is performed within an MCL-Mobility Platform account.
Subscription type licenses are NOT managed by MCL-License Manager.
If you want more information about this cloud-based management platform provided by MCL Technologies, feel free to contact MCL Support.
MCL-License Manager is a cloud-based platform where you manage your (perpetual) licenses and the corresponding license units.
This platform allows you to:
•check the status of your MCL licenses (ex: if a license is active or has been canceled),
•view information on the MCL license itself (ex: part name/number, version number),
•check how many license units of a particular MCL license are still free (ex: the number of used MCL-Client license units),
•view information on the device/server/PC with an active MCL license unit (ex: the serial number and model of the computer with an activated MCL-Designer license unit).
•add add-ons to the intended MCL license (ex: add an add-on to your MCL-Net perpetual license with more license units to be distributed by more servers).
•activate MCL-Client license units in target devices using a QR Code or a Configuration file (this operation is ONLY available for MCL-Client licenses).
When you purchase an MCL (perpetual) license for the first time, you MUST create an MCL-License Manager account where you will register that license. See Create an MCL-License Manager Account.
Each time an MCL (perpetual) license is acquired, you receive an email with license details and a direct link to MCL-License Manager so you can register that license.
Once you have an account, you can decide to register any future license(s) in the same MCL-License Manager account (just access the platform and log in) OR create a different account for specific licenses (choose to create a new account in the platform's login page instead of logging in). For instance, you may want to group the licenses used for a specific site in one MCL-License Manager account and have another account to register/manage the licenses that have been activated in devices of another site/facility.
See Register an MCL License in MCL-License Manager.
MCL-License Manager Access
To access MCL-License Manager, enter the URL https://license.mcl4e.com/mclls/licensing/login.html into your Internet browser.
As an alternative, click the "Registration Link" included in the email you receive after purchasing an MCL license (subject: "License Delivery Notification") OR the link provided by the email that validates the registration of an MCL license in your MCL-License Manager account (subject: "License Activation").
User Guide
The MCL-License Manager User Guide describes the platform's interface and the available options/operations for the management of your MCL (perpetual) licenses.
The chapters have been grouped into general information/operations that can be executed regardless of the acquired MCL product license and the operations that apply to specific MCL products:
